1960's HAMILTON'Pan-Europ' Automatic Diver - Hamilton Cal. From the late 1960s and in great condition, a Hamilton Pan-Europ automatic with the Hamilton Cal. 964A, based on the ETA Cal. 2472 that has been professionally inspected by Localtime.
The dial, hands, bezel and case [42.50mm case, 45.50mm including the screw-in crown] are just wonderful and it still has most of its purple wax on the caseback. You might recognise the bezel if you are a Heuer Autavia fan as both Hamilton and Heuer used the same exact bezel on their Pan-Europ and Autavia models respectively.
It is wearing one of my own Localtime Tropic straps. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. Below you will find a few close-up macro photographs I took, just for fun.
It is important to remember though that such close-up macro shots with extreme lighting, most times show details that can not be seen by the naked eye. Extra: Try my Localtime tropic-style straps!
Lets face it, we all wish we could use the vintage, original type, but they are nowhere to be found anymore. If you do find them, they are very expensive or dry and stiff if they were not properly kept all these years. Not to mention the fact that 22 & 24mm are really rare as hen teeth. I have found these straps to be a good alternative to the vintage tropic straps and very comfortable. They come in 4 sizes [18-20-22-24mm] and with 2 smooth, floating keepers. The straps themselves are black and have a nice tropic pattern on them. Their length is 85mm on the buckle end [including the steel buckle] and 120mm on the tail end; so not short but not too long either. I include a pair of good quality speed pins too.
Additional Information About Localtime Ltd. We are dedicated to ensuring the highest possible quality service for our customers. See the tabs below to read more about our policies.I was born and raised in Cyprus, a small island in the Eastern Mediterranean, now a member of the European Union. My studies took me to Switzerland, the USA, Germany, and England. I did not, as you might think, study to become a watchmaker but rather a hotelier.
As such, I spent most of my professional life as a hotel manager. Over time, I have actually come to understand that watch restoration and hospitality have a lot in common. In both instances, I have found myself taking care of people or products that were with me for a brief period of time. As a hotel manager, I was content at the end of a visitors stay in my hotel when they would give me a warm smile and an appreciative farewell.
I love what I do and I take pride in doing it the best way possible in order to maintain the original integrity of each vintage timepiece. I would also be happy to hear from you if you would like to have a watch restored.Be it a family heirloom or one from your collection, my colleagues and I will do our best to return it to you healthier than when it got to us. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT : Our products are always carefully cushion-packed in heavy-stock, post-office carton boxes [or jiffy bags, depending on the product] for safe travelling.
